When you love trying new makeup looks, any holiday is an excuse to throw out the rules and let your makeup creativity take over. This might seem more obvious to do on Halloween, when you can DIY any look your imagination can dream up, but Valentine’s Day is a stealthy makeup holiday we love to go all out for too. You could go the dark, moody route with smoky eyes and vampy lips; rock a natural look with just mascara and lip gloss; or follow an artistic approach with jewels, bold colors, and more. Whichever  Valentine’s Day makeup looks is your vibe, a few simple and easy-to-follow techniques can make a huge difference when you’re getting ready for your date night, BFF night out, or even your selfie for your IG feed.

From glittery eye looks to creative heart stencil ideas, here are our favorite V-Day makeup looks you’re sure to fall for—and be sure to check out our Valentine’s Day hairstyles and Valentine’s Day nail art roundups for even more inspo!

Valentine’s Day Makeup Inspo for Every Vibe

1. Heart on the Line Valentine’s Day Makeup

valentines-day-makeup-looks 01

What better way to say “I only have eyes for you” than stamping adorable little hearts below your waterline? All you need to achieve this makeup look is a shimmer eyeshadow, a set of cat-eye falsies, and a waterproof liquid eyeliner. We recommend the REINA REBELDE  Liquid Eyeliner so you have two options for formula. To recreate this look, dust the eyeshadow over your eyelid, then apply your liquid eyeliner, taking it all the way into your inner corner to form a V. Next, draw a small heart below the center of your waterline. Finish off by applying your lashes and adding very light bottom-lash mascara so you can see your artwork peeking through.

2. Tomato Girl V-Day Glam

valentines-day-makeup-looks-02

You don’t need a makeup tutorial on blush (although we’ve got that too) to achieve this monochromatic tomato look. Simply reach for an eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick in similar orange-red tones, and apply as desired, being sure to concentrate the blush on the apples of your cheeks. It’s like giving your cheeks a head start on all the blush-worthy moments to come on V-Day.

3. Patent-Red Valentine’s Day Lip Look

valentines-day-makeup-looks-03

Evoke that chic, statement-making red-bottom energy without the hefty price tag. This ultra-shiny lip look takes your classic red lip look to the next level, and it’s surprisingly easy to achieve. Apply your favorite red lip shade all over, then slather on a high-shine lip gloss over top (the gloss can be pigmented or completely clear). Bonus points if you can find a red liquid lipstick with a high-gloss finish to get the look in one step. We have total heart eyes for the GXVE BEAUTY  Xtra Sauce - Longwear Vinyl Liquid Lipstick at the moment.

4. Icy Pink Eyeshadow Valentine’s Day Makeup

If you’re going to wear pink eyeshadow, make it icy, like this Valentine’s Day makeup look. The PATRICK TA BEAUTY Major Dimension II Rose Eyeshadow Palette contains all the eyeshadow shades you need to recreate this look, including some gorgeous shimmer shades that will create the icy effect on your lids.

5. Pink Eyeliner and Mascara Valentine’s Day Makeup

For those who want to keep it simple but still want to make an impact, try this bold makeup idea. Use a pink eyeliner on your lids, then use a pink mascara to make your eyes pop. That’s all you need to do.

6. Muted Valentine’s Day Makeup

This cool, soft makeup look works for V-Day, date night, and everything in between. Start with your go-to base of foundation and concealer, then dab on a pink blush like the F.A.R.A.H Creamy Malai Blush Stick. The key is to build your makeup look around the blush, according to the makeup tutorial, so more is more in this case. Then go in with a cool-toned contour like the KVD BEAUTY Modcon Liquid-Gel Contour to create the signature coolness of this makeup. For the eyes, use the ICONIC LONDON Hotting Up Eyeshadow Palette for a matte finish. Finish the look with a cool-toned pout using the SKONE COSMETICS Luxe Lip Liner and the MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist For Ever Satin & Matte Lipstick.

7. Heart Eyes Valentine’s Day Makeup

Valentine’s Day is all about hearts, and your makeup can be too. Do your makeup as you normally would for a night out, then grab a Q-tip. Use hues from the VIOLET VOSS Berries N’ Cream Dreams Eyeshadow Palette to shape hearts around your eyes and face, just like in the makeup tutorial.

8. Kiss Print Valentine’s Day Makeup

Kiss it better with this lovely look. As the finishing touch to your Valentine’s Day makeup, grab some plastic wrap from your kitchen. Then, apply a red lipstick like the FENTY BEAUTY Semi-Matte Lipstick. Kiss the plastic wrap, then carefully apply it to your face to leave a kiss print. You may want to practice this a few times before you wear it out, just to ensure you nail the look. Set it with the LAURA MERCIER Translucent Pure Setting Spray so it lasts through actual kisses.

9. Graphic Eyeshadow Valentine’s Day Makeup

We’re obsessed with how trippy this heart-shaped graphic eyeshadow looks. Start by applying the V KOSMETIK Eyeshadow Primer to your lids, then apply a base color, such as the ABOUT-FACE Matte Fluid Eye Paint™. Use the REAL TECHNIQUES RT 1412 Fine Liner Brush with the WHATS UP BEAUTY Flirtique Eye & Cheek Palette to add the details of this eye makeup look.

10. Glitter Eyes Valentine’s Day Makeup

Go full Euphoria vibes with this glittery eye look. Use the IBY BEAUTY Lush Single Eyeshadows as a base, then apply the DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY Infinite Chrome Flakes on top of it to give a date night makeup look that pops.

11. Anti-Valentine’s Day Makeup

For those who don’t want to celebrate Valentine’s Day, this look is for you. This look may be a little tricky for beginners, though it’s not unachievable. Create a sad eye look using a white eyeshadow like the MEECH N MIA Loose Eyeshadow Pigment. To create the tears in this Valentine’s Day makeup tutorial, you’ll need a hot glue gun and some parchment paper. Let the glue dry, then apply the lashes to your face using lash adhesive to ensure they stay put. For the heart blush look, use a heart sticker, then apply white blush around it. Dab some highlighter on the area and tears too, so Cupid can see how much you’re not feeling the holiday.

12. Maximalist Blush Valentine’s Day Makeup

Blush blindness? We don’t know her. Build as much blush as possible in your desired shade, whether that be red, pink, or even purple, to create this glam makeup look. Start with a cream or liquid blush that is highly pigmented, such as the BEAUTY CREATIONS COSMETICS Flawless Stay Liquid Blush Cheeked Up Wands. Set the look, then add some additional color with a powder blush like the BISHA Essential Duo Blush. Finish the look as the makeup artist did with some colorful face gems. Don’t forget to set the look with the FORMULA Z Setting Spray to ensure it’s long-lasting.

13. Bitten Lips Valentine’s Day Makeup

Bitten (or blurred) lips are everywhere right now, making them a trendy Valentine’s Day makeup look option. Cover your lips in concealer first, then apply a red lipstick like the NATASHA DENONA I Need a Rouge Lip Crayon closer to the inner part of your lips. Avoid extending to the outer corners of your lips to create this smudge look. Finally, go over everything with the ELOISE BEAUTY Lip Gloss for a glossy-lip effect.

14. Frosted Valentine’s Day Makeup

Take inspo from the winter weather with this frosted makeup look, a Y2K trend making a resurgence. Use shades of white and light blue eyeshadow, as found in the JUST XIMENA You & Me in Miami Eyeshadow Palette. Apply a shimmery shade to the inner corners of your eyes to widen their appearance. Then go in with a skin tint for your skin tone (we’re partial to the CIATÉ LONDON Dewy Skin Tint because of its shade range). Apply concealer where you feel most comfortable, then a bright pink blush under the outer corners of your eyes. Don’t forget a touch of bronzer so you don’t look completely washed out.

15. Feather Eyelashes Valentine’s Day Makeup

False eyelashes have been everywhere this year, though more subtle styles have been in the spotlight. This year, we’re going bold and daring with our false lashes. So for Valentine’s Day, try a pair of pink feather lashes. After all, what’s V-Day if you aren’t having a little fun with your makeup?

16. Red Smoky Eye Valentine’s Day Makeup

We’re feeling the vampy vibes for Valentine’s Day this year. Amp up your go-to winged eyeliner with a red eyeshadow crayon. Build the product on the outer corners of your eyes, then smudge it with the WINGME COSMETICS All Over Eyeshadow Brush. Draw an exaggerated cat eye with the BLINC TUBING™ Liquid Eyeliner.

17. All-Over Pink Valentine’s Day Makeup

Anyone else obsessed with Zara Larsson and the looks her makeup artist, Sophia Sinot, has been dreaming up? They’re so fun, vibrant, and festive—all adjectives we love when it comes to makeup. They also offer great Valentine’s Day inspiration, like this all-over pink look. From the bright pink eyes to the glossy pink lips, it’s time to think pink.

18. Grungy Red Lip Valentine’s Day Makeup

Still want to have fun with your Valentine’s Day makeup, but maybe don’t want to go full Barbie? Try this grungy makeup look on for size. Start with a smoky eye, which you can easily recreate with the ICONIC LONDON Smokey Eye Duo Kajal Eyeliner and ICONIC LONDON Smokey Secret Baked Eyeshadow Palette duo. Pair it with a bright red lip, and you’re good to go.

19. Dewy Valentine’s Day Makeup

Dewy makeup is our go-to for special events, especially when we know we’re going to take plenty of photos. Our skin just looks so glowy when we do this look, and yours can too, no matter your skin tone. The MILK MAKEUP Cloud Glow Foam Brightening Primer is the perfect base, followed by the CIATÉ LONDON Dewy Skin Tint for a complexion that glows. Brighten up the impact with the BENEFIT COSMETICS Dew La La All-Over Glow Liquid Highlighter.

20. Glossy Lips Valentine’s Day Makeup

Valentine’s Day is about your pout getting all the attention, even if you’re going solo. Put it on full display with this glossy lip look. Dab on some of the BASIC BEAUTY Lipstick, then go over it with the AF94 Playdate Multi-Use Cheek + Lip Color in Bite Back to create that glossy effect. Don’t forget to go heavy on the blush, which you can use the same color for.

21. Hidden Heart Valentine’s Day Makeup

Your eye makeup can still be impactful without being bold, like with this look. Draw hearts on your lids using the BEAUTY FOR CERTAIN Lip Liner: #51 Cherry Red, which you can also use to create a pretty lip look (we love makeup looks that can be achieved with one product!).

22. Full-Glam Valentine’s Day Makeup

This editorial look isn’t for the faint of heart, though we’d love to see everyone in it (after all, we should all be having more fun with our makeup). Follow the full makeup tutorial in the video above, and be sure to grab the DANESSA MYRICKS BEAUTY ColorFix™ Mattes Multi-Use Waterproof Liquid Pigment to bring this look to life.

23. Y2K Emo Valentine’s Day Makeup

We’re throwing it back with another look—one that reminds us of our MySpace days (RIP). As much as we love red and pink together, black and pink are also a match made in Valentine’s Day heaven. This look will take some precision with pink and black eyeliner, so you may want to practice before you wear it out. We use the WHATS UP BEAUTY Wind Glider Gel Eyeliner Pencil for looks like these because it doesn’t pull or pill. The MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Resist Color Ink 24HR Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner also works well, especially if you’re using white eyeliner. Use a combination of colors from the PINKLIPPS COSMETICS Fall Sweet Fall Mini Eyeshadow Palette for your eyeshadow look.

24. Aura Eyeshadow Valentine’s Day Makeup

Forget aura nails—we’re welcoming aura eyeshadow this year. Wear the magic inside of you on the outside with this trend. And you can even use Valentine’s Day colors for a holiday take on this look. Start with a light pink eyeshadow color, then add a darker pink to the center. Add face gems, as seen in the tutorial, for some extra pizazz.

25. Throwback Valentine’s Day Makeup

It’s 2026, but 2016 makeup is so back—and we are so here for it. Remember when we caked our faces to death? Time to bring it back, even for Valentine’s Day. Don’t be afraid of contour with this look, since it is 2016 makeup after all. Try the ACE BEAUTÉ Sculpt & Define Contour Stick for easy contouring. Go bold with the eye makeup, even trying a cut crease if you can. Use the colors in the NATASHA DENONA Love Face Palette to create a sunset-inspired eye look.

26. Red Lipstick Eyeliner Valentine’s Day Makeup

We can’t get enough of red makeup for the holiday, mainly because people don’t know how multifunctional red lipstick is. Use this tutorial, which uses a Q-tip and red lipstick, to create a red smoky eye look that complements your lipstick.

27. Dramatic Cat Eye Valentine’s Day Makeup

If the above look has you inspired, try this dramatic cat eye. Use a colorful eyeshadow, like pink, purple, or red, and extend the wing as far out as you prefer, using the MORPHE Eye Shaping Essentials Bamboo & Charcoal Infused Eye Brush Set. So simple, but so impactful.

28. Jelly Aesthetic Valentine’s Day Makeup

According to Pinterest Predicts, jelly makeup was a big hit in 2025 and is poised to be even bigger in 2026. So why not try an all-jelly makeup look with bouncy products? There are so many jelly makeup products we could recommend, but we’ll keep it to these three: MO BEAUTY Mo-Jelly Blush + Lip Tint, FORMULA Z Amaze Glaze® Jelly Highlighter, and AF94 Don't Be Jelly.

29. Disco Valentine’s Day Makeup

We’re traveling back to the 1970s for this mod disco-inspired look with pops of pink that’s perfect for the month of love. Start by prepping your eyelids with the MORPHE Eyelid Primer and the ICONIC LONDON Radiant Concealer & Brightening Duo. Create a cut crease with the dark pink shade in the VIOLET VOSS Violet Sunset Eyeshadow Palette and SLMISSGLAM Eye Brush Duo. Cover your lids in a hot pink shade, creating a subtle cat eye in a dark pink shade to finish.

30. Lace Valentine’s Day Makeup

Lace makeup is a big trend, though it’s often extravagant to say the least. We love this subtle take on the trend with lace eyelids. Grab the MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Resist Color Ink 24HR Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner and draw a design on your lids like the one in the video.

31. Vampire Beauty Valentine’s Day Makeup

Feeling a gothic romance this Valentine’s Day? Opt for this vampire-inspired beauty look. Use red and black makeup products to up the vampy vibes. Start with a smoky red and black eye look, then move onto your lips. Outline them with a black lip pencil, like the REALHER Lip Liner, then go over your pout with a deep red lip shade, like the NATASHA DENONA Berry Pop Lipstick.

32. Full Glitter Valentine’s Day Makeup

We know this glowy makeup look is for V-Day, but we’d wear it every day if we had an excuse. Use glowy makeup products, from your primer to your setting spray, to give your complexion a dewy look. Apply the NATASHA DENONA Chromium Liquid Eyeshadow on your lids so they shine like the stars.

33. Eccentric Valentine’s Day Makeup

Another Pinterest Predicts trend, eccentric makeup is in. This year, we’re going bold, and we aren’t holding back. Do the same on Valentine’s Day with this constellation-inspired eye look. The NATASHA DENONA Mini Sunset Eyeshadow Palette will help you recreate the eyeshadow.
